Spear (formerly Samplead) rebranded, bringing in the brilliant Ilan Reichner to work his magic to transform them into how an AI startup should look. I had the privilege of animating his gorgeous designs. Translating these intricate drawings into Lottie while maintaining a tactile, hand-drawn, stop-motion feel was a massive challenge. Achieving that hand-drawn displacement without file sizes exploding from thousands of vector points. Ultimately, I vibe-coded a custom script to handle the displacement effect, and after some vigorous optimization, I achieved a result I’m incredibly proud of.
